Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I can't hear the timer alarm

Please check your browser's volume settings. Some browsers may restrict audio playback before user interaction (like clicking). The alarm will work normally after you click the Start button.

How many minutes should I set for cooking noodles?

Standard instant noodles typically require 3 minutes. Some products may need 4-5 minutes. Enter the desired time in the Minutes field and press Start.

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s. One 'pomodoro' is 25 minutes of focus + 5 minutes of break. After 4 pomodoros, take a 15-30 minute long break.

Can I change the Pomodoro focus time?

Yes, use the ± buttons to adjust from 1 to 90 minutes in 5-minute increments. Break times are adjustable too.

What is Tabata training?

Developed by Dr. Izumi Tabata in Japan. It's a HIIT protocol of 20 seconds all-out exercise + 10 seconds rest for 8 sets (4 minutes total).

What's the difference between HIIT and Tabata?

Tabata is a specific type of HIIT. HIIT is the general term for high-intensity interval training with flexible work/rest times and rounds. Tabata is a fixed protocol of 20s/10s/8 rounds.

How many timers can I run simultaneously?

You can run up to 4 independent timers simultaneously. Each timer can be started, stopped, and reset individually.

Timer vs Stopwatch: When to Use Which?

A timer counts down from a set duration to zero and alerts you when time is up. A stopwatch counts up from zero to measure elapsed time. Though similar, they serve fundamentally different purposes.

Use a timer when: You know the duration in advance — cooking pasta for 8 minutes, a 25-minute Pomodoro focus session, a 60-second plank hold, or a 15-minute meeting break. Timers are about discipline and deadlines.

Use a stopwatch when: You want to measure how long something takes — timing a 5K run, tracking how long you study, measuring a presentation rehearsal, or recording lap times. Stopwatches are about measurement and analysis.

Some tasks benefit from both: time your first attempt with a stopwatch to establish a baseline, then use that measurement as a timer target for future attempts.

Cooking Time Reference Chart

Accurate timing is essential in cooking. Here are common reference times for popular ingredients:

Boiling: Soft-boiled egg: 6-7 min | Hard-boiled egg: 10-12 min | Pasta (al dente): 8-10 min | Rice: 15-18 min | Potatoes (cubed): 15-20 min

Baking (350°F / 180°C): Cookies: 10-12 min | Brownies: 25-30 min | Chicken breast: 25-30 min | Whole chicken: 60-90 min | Pizza: 12-15 min

Grilling: Burger patty (medium): 4-5 min per side | Steak (medium-rare, 1-inch): 3-4 min per side | Salmon fillet: 4-5 min per side | Vegetables: 5-10 min total

Steeping tea: Green tea: 2-3 min at 175°F | Black tea: 3-5 min at 212°F | Herbal tea: 5-7 min at 212°F | Oolong: 3-5 min at 195°F

These are guidelines — always adjust for your specific equipment and preferences.
